Having origins in the discipline of dance, Clare Whelan is a visual artist interested in the form and movement of the human body. She is currently creating sculptures of the female form and transporting them to natural environments.
Studying: BA Art Practice with Education at Newman University College between 2003 and 2007, she also gain Qualified teacher status at this time. She went on to study MA Art practice and Education at Birmingham City University, between 2007 and 2009 achieving a Pass with commendation.
Clare is an experienced Primary school teacher specialising in Art, she has also had experience of lecturing Art Practice and Newman University. Within the last two years she has completed two Artist residencies within Educational settings. She has recently exhibited Art work in Birmingham, England and Hamburg, Germany.
